Management

To become Art Market Manager, the course will teach you how to :

  • Conduct and pilot projects connected to the art market.
  • Engage in entrepreneurship.

You will gain a knowledge of art works and artists, of major issues in the art market, of its functioning and its practices in France and abroad.

Our programme will give you the foundations to study and research in order to :

  • Conceive and execute a project.
  • Develop a first level of expertise that professional experience will sharpen.

At the end of this cycle, you will be knowledge-worthy about: 

  • The professional environment of art market. 
  • Uses and practices linked to the commercialization of art works and objects.
  • Management and entrepreneurship.
  • Project engineering.

To improve your orientation, you will have to chose an option (see below) during the second semester, according to your project:

  • Authentification of art works and objects.
  • Today’s arts and artists.

The pedagogical programme provides teaching periods, project coaching, tutoring, independent work and on-the-job immersion.

Become Art Market Manager.

You manage creations with high artistic, decorative and patrimonial value.

You ensure the valorization of objects and art works, and actively follow their ratings.

You encourage the placement and financial investment of the collections.

You identify new artists and organize the heritage conservation.

 

The skills:

As Art Market manager, you will develop a double set of competences, in art and in management.
You’ll know how to administratively, juridically, financially manage the business, and will adopt an international marketing strategy.
You’ll know how to prospect and how to supply your business.
You are able to realize an artwork’s diagnostic, an expertise and to put conservation actions in place.
You will know how to organize conferences on art history and how to create exhibitions.

Profile :

Mobile and curious, the Art Market Manager likes to move places.
You visits artists’ workshops, and look for artwork. Intuitive, person of good taste, you’ll interest yourself in trends’ evolution, to contemporary creation or heritage conservation.
You like history and its relation to artistic creation.
International oriented, you speak several languages and are a regular guest to exhibitions.

Artistic communication manager

In direct contact with the head of communication, you install all the communication projects in link with the different cultural and artistic demonstrations that you must put into light.

Double-check or write the press release, marketing operations, prints and web supports, etc.

Actually you're everywhere and without you, there would be no good information transmission.

Communication director

The communication director has for mission to promote the image of his company within its environment.

He defines its global communication strategy and drives its realization at national or international scale, in harmony with the general direction.

Development officer

Under direct authority of the executive board, you ensure an expertise and counseling mission, conceive or participate in projects conception and put in place the actions linked with an increased visibility of art market, be it via an antique shop or an auction house.

Clever and communicative, you are capable to adapt to all interlocutors to make the market and artwork issues you are representing evolve.

Expert in Art

You are here to authentificate objects and artworks.

You determine the nature, value, period, often the author. The value often depends on the quality of the conservation. You love precision and research, sometimes capital to confort your expertise and deliver a reliable estimate.

By becoming expert, you open a door of a world at the edge of science, art and investigation.

Galery manager

You participate in all activities of an art galery.

You are in charge of customer relationship, meaning the welcoming, the relations with the art market professionals (experts, auctioneer), sales advices.

You deal with the exhibitions' installation, the participation to national and international demonstrations. You keep an eye on the administrative functioning of the galery.

Patronage and investment manager

Multi-skilled, you help the patron and direct the project on all its aspects.

More and more current in France, your mission will be to chose projects to sustain in evaluating its potential for the company or institution that you represent.

It's up to you to establish the best strategy for your institution and for the patronage action you develop.
